Laptops Donation from Times2 Academy to Benefit a Public High School in Haiti

Good morning, Mrs. Coretta Scott King said "The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members. All one needs is a heart of grace and a soul generated by love". As we are celebrating the #BlackHistoryMonth, this quote of Dr King's wife emphasizes on the importance of helping one another to rise up and to create change. In that spirit, Times2 Academy, a charter school in Providence through its Executive Director, made a donation of laptops to benefit Hope and Change for Haiti. In collaboration with the Alumni Association of Lycee Antenor Firmin, a public high school located in the down-city of Port-au-prince, these laptops were sent to that school to help creating access to computers for the students and teachers.

Lycee Antenor Firmin is one among tenth of public schools in Haiti with very limited access to basics resources and total absence of technology. These laptops will help to provide an initiation to computer for the students and allow teachers to use them for research and courses preparation. Founded in 1952, Lycee Antenor Firmin has a total of 2950 students (split into 2 groups AM & PM). As we discuss with the principal of the school, he applauded the initiative and warmly welcome it. He wishes that Hope and Change for Haiti will continue assisting them and help to build a lab with 100 Laptops to allow students, staffs and teachers to have more access to computer to learn and to do research. If you know any companies, schools, organizations or other businesses that are willing to giveaway laptops to benefit Lycee Antenor Firmin or other public schools in Haiti, we humbly ask you to let us know or to connect us with them. Together we can help to bring sustainable change for a better education in Haiti. THANK YOU! Peace,

Dr. Norly Germain Executive Director Hope and Change for Haiti
